Michael Clark Band

A Beautiful Evening of Fun and Laughter at Barrett's Landing
Friday, July 18th, 2008 by John Taranovich, Contributor

It was a warm afternoon that slid smoothly into a cool night with the full moon setting the perfect light. Lawn chairs littered the grass filled with people enjoying The Michael Clark Band. The Brass was buzzing, the bass was banging, the guitars were getting down and the band was singing and swinging a smooth soundtrack to the “We be Jammin,” last evening in our downtown Franklin.

Nearly 700 guests attended last night's event, a big crowd compared to last week when the lawn was closed due to safety reasons.  Like every Thursday the beer was flowing profusely, the cut artery from the beer truck making every person a catch, and why not? Middle-aged men in tropical shirts roamed the grass for their loved ones with beer in hand.  They mingled with all sorts also with friends and family.  A man with too much time on his hands danced to an Elvis ditty with two birds on his head, while others embraced in love slow danced to the rhythm of a romance deal laid down like real velvet from the band's female vocalist and other instrumentalists.

It was a great night, a great time within the week, something that you can look back on as a member of the Franklin community and say "I was a part of that" and be proud that you were.
